Artist's Statement
My background in education was in natural sciences from Queen's University. After raising a family of 3 children, I wanted to pursue a very keen interest in art so I returned to study "Fine Arts" at York University in 1993 majoring in painting and sculpture. Over the last number of years I have taken painting courses at the Haliburton School of Fine Arts in painting and sculpture from artists from across Canada.
I started painting with watercolour then introduced acrylics and mixed media. My painting style is often semi-abstract with themes usually related to nature.
I have had solo shows as well as group shows in Ottawa, Aurora,Newmarket and Fenelon Falls and have exhibited in galleries in Aurora and Newmarket. I live at Sturgeon Point and paint from a studio in my home.
